About Us

We are a small (in-process) sport horse breeder that specializes producing competent, brave, and willing young horses.

After I (Sierra) and my long sufering husband (Jeff) finished our graduate programs in Texas  we relocated to southern Illinois and are working on turning our eleven acres into a success story. Jeff is a retired army vetern, a fulltime liscened therapist, and an honorary engineer. I have my graduate degree from TTU in Technical Communication and Rhetoric and if I am not working with horses, I am teaching college students. We have a teenage daughter who is a surly delight and would die if I said anything else about her in an online public space.

After well over 25 years working with, around, and for horses, I have a few select and quality horses with us that work with us as our broodmares, lesson horses, and best friends. We also have way too many cats, some very tall dogs, and some sort-of-rude-but-still-somehow-charming goats, and almost always some piece of broken equipment.

At Stargate Farm we feel incredibly lucky that we get to do what we love. We’d love for you to take part in the Stargate Farm experience in whatever way you'd like.
